Currently Associate Professor at the Facultad de Ingeniería, Arquitectura y Diseño (FIAD) of Universidad San Sebastián, in Concepción, Chile. Associate Researcher at RECETOX, Masaryk University in the city of Brno, Czech Republic. Marine Biologist from Facultad de Ciencias (Universidad de Concepción, Chile). PhD from the University of Siena (UNISI) (2004). In 2015 she obtained a postdoctoral position at Environment Canada, the Air Quality and Climate Change, in the city of Toronto, Canada (2007).

Logistics, execution, and analysis of sampling on beaches and rivers of the VIII region for the study of microplastics and macroplastics includes fine-tuning and modifications of existing analytical methodologies for the identification of plastic particles, in FTIR analysis and other contaminants associated with polymeric materials.
Atmospheric sampling design. Conditioning the number of capture membranes for identification and detection of pesticides in water-air, in addition to the use of GIS as a management tool and spatial analysis of contaminants.

Her main focus is to investigate and disseminate information about the health of water. Camila has worked in the audiovisual area for 5 years, participating in documentaries with marine themes, for example, with National Geographic, Univisión, Channel 13, Haka Honu, etc. She worked for 2 years regarding Law N° 21,368 (Single-use plastics and plastic bottles). For 6 years she has been a member of the editorial team of Endemico Magazine. She has participated in several oceanographic campaigns, in charge of sampling, and has experience in different seas and environmental conditions. In the area of education, Camila has developed environmental education activities and workshops with children throughout our country and has advised art projects linked to the ocean.
